Who we are

We are a mother and son team of independent small scale beekeepers in rural Warwickshire. We keep up to 20 bee hives on two sites close to our home in the village of Eathorpe and pride ourselves on a very high standard of husbandry. The welfare of our bees is paramount and we are very interested in their lives and habits.

Jane

Jane learnt about beekeeping from her own mother and has been actively keeping her own bees now for over 25 years. She is a Master Beekeeper, a Trustee of the British Beekeepers’ Association, and a beekeeping trainer and assessor in much demand.

Alexander

Alexander has been interested in beekeeping since he was about 4 years old. The picture above shows him at 4, helping to deal with his first swarm. He’s older now, with Masters degrees in Physics and in Legal Practice, and is in the final stages of training to be a solicitor. Yet his beekeeping hobby remains!

Mother and Son

Beekeeping is often a family affair and these two are no exception. It might be thought that Jane provides the expert knowledge about bees, while Alexander adds the muscle as he lifts those heavy supers about – but that would not be quite accurate. Both of them combine expert knowledge with enthusiasm – a true partnership.
